Fox 21 TV Studios Taps Vibiana Molina for Business and Legal Affairs Post
She'll take over the role from Sandra Ortiz, who departed the studio for Kapital Entertainment.
Fox 21 Television Studios has found a new head of business and legal affairs.
Veteran business affairs executive Vibiana Molina has been tapped to take over from Sandra Ortiz, who left to work for Kapital Entertainment. Molina will oversee the business and legal affairs of the cable and streaming production company, which currently makes shows including American Crime Story, Homeland, The Americans, Genius and Feud.
“This business and its templates are seemingly changing on an hour by hour basis, and Vibiana is perfectly suited for such an environment," said Fox 21 TV Studios' president Bert Salke, to whom Molina will report. "She’s smart, innovative, hardworking and everything that we’re looking for in this crucial position. We couldn’t be more excited to have her join us.”
Molina joined Twentieth Century Fox Television in 2005, and most recently served as executive vp business affairs for the studio. In that role, she handled the business affairs operations and strategy of multiple series and projects in development, including coming up with new templates for the studio’s musical shows — from Ryan Murphy’s Glee to Lee Daniels’ Star.
Prior to joining the studio, Molina ran business affairs for Gavin Polone’s Pariah, and also worked in the business affairs department of TNT originals. She began her career in the music department of Manatt, Phelps and Phillips. She's a native of Los Angeles and earned a BA in political science from UCLA and a JD from Columbia Law School.
