Netflix's 'One Day at a Time' Reboot Perfectly Re-Creates Original Opening Credits
Season two bows Jan. 26 on the streaming platform.
Netflix's One Day at a Time reboot announced its season two premiere date in creative fashion Thursday.
Norman Lear's reboot of his beloved 1970s comedy re-created the original show's opening credits, with its Jan. 26 return date capping off the epic tribute.
Netflix's reimagining of the iconic comedy revolves around three generations of a Cuban-American family living under one roof. Newly single mom and military veteran Penelope (Justina Machado) enlists the "help" of her old-school Cuba-born mother, Lydia (Rita Moreno), and building manager, Schneider (Todd Grinnell), while raising two millennials: her radical daughter Elena (Isabella Gomez) and socially inept son Alex (Marcel Ruiz). Lear, who created the original series, executive produces the revival alongside How I Met Your Mother's Gloria Calderon Kellett and Men of a Certain Age's Mike Royce.
