Noah Hawley's anthology has yet to officially be renewed, but FX CEO John Landgraf is optimistic about its return.
There is more life left in Fargo.
FX CEO John Landgraf told reporters Friday at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour that showrunner Noah Hawley has an idea for a fourth season of the anthology. While the critical darling has yet to be officially renewed, Landgraf said he expected season four of Fargo to air in 2019.
"It's not gone. Noah Hawley has told us that he has an idea that excited me enormously for a fourth cycle of Fargo. The plan is to have that ready for 2019. I'm focused on what's coming in 2018. The anticipation is there will be another cycle of Fargo in 2019," Landgraf said. Fargo has been a critical success for FX, garnering multiple Emmys and giving the basic cable network another anthology outside of the Ryan Murphy world. The series has also helped draw top talent to the network, including Ewan McGregor. FX has a full slate in 2018, with the final season of The Americans, Danny Boyle's Trust, the long-awaited return of Donald Glover's Atlanta as well as American Crime Story and its newly ordered Sons of Anarchy spinoff Mayans MC.
