TV Ratings: 'The Voice' Gets Quieter in Night 2

'This Is Us' leads the night, which sees NBC sweep all three hours of primetime.

Even in its second episode of the season, The Voice proved no match for NBC neighbor This Is Us.

The reality competition, which saw a mostly steady return to the dial Monday night, lost half of a ratings point in its first Tuesday outing of the cycle — averaging a 2.3 rating among adults 18-49. It isn't at all unexpected for the show, which typically draws a much bigger crowd on Mondays.

This Is Us, enduring only a modest post-Olympics return dip of its own, topped the night with a 2.5 rating among adults 18-49. Chicago Med, which locked hourly wins across the board for NBC, was the network's lone even entry. It pulled a 1.4 rating in the key demo.

CBS locked a distant No. 2 in the key demo with a mildly depleted NCIS (1.2 adults) and even episodes of Bull (1.1 adults) and NCIS: New Orleans (0.9 adults). Fox trotted out steady episodes of Lethal Weapon (1.0 adults), LA to Vegas (0.7 adults) and The Mick (0.6 adults).

ABC was the only network to put out any repeats, though there were new episodes of The Middle (1.2 adults), Fresh Off the Boat (0.9 adults) and Kevin (Probably) Saves the World (0.5 adults) — all steady. The CW saw The Flash match a low 0.7 rating in the key demo, while Black Lightning continued to show stability with a 0.5 rating.
