Kat Dennings to Star in ABC Comedy Based on 'How May We Hate You'

The '2 Broke Girls' alum was among the most sought-after actresses this pilot season.

Kat Dennings has made her pilot selection.

The 2 Broke Girls alum, who fielded multiple pilot offers at the broadcast networks this season, is set to star in ABC's untitled Justin Noble comedy based on the book and blog How May We Hate You.

The single-camera workplace ensemble comedy centers on two guest service associates at a high-end resort and the co-workers and guests that they are stuck with for eight to 16 hours a day.

Dennings will play Ellie, a guest services specialist who is forced to wear a plastic smile as she deals with hotel clientele who pay more per night than she pays in rent each month. In debt from three botched attempts at different grad schools, Ellie is making ends meet by working beside her best friend Gabe at a high-end hotel. Dennings will also be credited as a producer on the show.

Noble (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) penned the script and exec produces the comedy, which is a co-production between CBS Television Studios and ABC Studios. Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor will exec produce alongside TrillTV's Wendi Trilling. Will Gluck and Richard Schwartz also exec produce, with the former set to direct the pilot.

Dennings, who was among the most in-demand actresses this pilot season, spent six seasons starring on CBS hit 2 Broke Girls. She's also attached to star in a comedy pilot that is still in contention at Hulu. On the big screen, she's had roles in Thor as well as Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist and The 40-Year-Old Virgin. She's repped by UTA, Management 360 and Sloane Offer.
